Wade sure did take his sweet time coming! I thought for sure I was going to go early but he showed us. I started to have contractions Friday night so we packed our bags and were ready by 10:00. We then just waited for the contractions to be five minutes apart. I could tell Rusty was getting excited. He wanted to take me to Walmart to walk around to see if it would speed up things. But anyone who knows me knows that I go to bed at 9:00 and so by midnight I was so tired and the last thing I wanted to do was walk around while I am in pain. So I convinced Rusty we should probably try to sleep so. Well Rusty fell right to sleep and I tried to do everything I could to comfort myself. They became extremely painful and more regular around 3:00 in the the morning and I thought about waking up Rusty, but I wanted to try and wait until morning. Around 4:00 Rusty came out and said he felt sick. Which was ok because my contractions started to ease up. The next few nights I would wake up having a few contractions, but nothing crazy. Monday night they started to become intense again and they never became regular. They would be 5 minutes apart for awhile and then 2 minutes apart and then I would go 10 minutes. Finally at 3:00 in the morning I wanted to go in to see where I was at. I was worried about waiting too long and not being able to recieve an epidural. I was really self consious about going in because I didn't want them to tell me that I wasn't even close and think I was stupid. So we walked the hospital parking lot several times until I got the nerve to go in. Luckily I was making progress while I was there and the fact that I was late I think they decided to keep me.
I was able to get the epidural really quick. From watching A Baby Story I thought I would have to wait several painful hours before I could get an epidural. I even asked the nurse if she was sure I was able to get it so early. I expected to have a joyful ride after the epidural, but it made me nauseas. It didn't help that the baby's heart beat would drop so they kept moving from laying on one side to the other, hoping it would help if the baby switched positions. This went on pretty much the whole time which caused me to throw up several times.. Soon they just gave me oxygen because it wasn't helping.
He was finally born 9 lbs. 4 oz. His heart beat kept dropping because the chord was wrapped around his neck two times.
Proud Dad!
This is the nice outfit my brother and sister in law brought to us since the clothes we had were too small.
Going home.
